LI VLURD - Carnevale Storico di Offida

It is a great honor and a great pleasure to be able to narrate, through this video, an incredible event in the city where my father was born and raised.

The Historic Carnival of Offida is a unique experience. Everyone gathers for a day of music, dancing, and singing. The Offidans wear the typical 'guazzarò' (a white cloth robe with a red scarf around the neck) and prepare the 'Vlurd' (enormous bundles of reeds stuffed with straw). As evening arrives, the Vlurd are lit and carried around the town, creating a huge bonfire in the center of the Piazza.
